My DeviantArt "birthday" is soon, I'll be four years old! It was only four years ago I happened to be linked to DA, and to date its been my most consistent internet obsession yet!

I do frequent alot of other sites though, because I find they're good resources or amusing or anything even, and they're often found through someone or a web page linking it to me.

So I figure the theme for this journal could be "lets exchange recommended websites!"

I mean not excluding obvious ones like Wiki and youtube and just link to anything you find/useful entertaining, my square eyes will be eternally grateful!!

Thankyou to for the suggestion of Hot Rod! We went to the show under that name, didn't get past the second fence in showjumping (pretty much expected ) Got round the cross country cross albeit haphazardly, and came 5th in dressage ! Thanks for all your suggestions guys, really helpful


So after two and half years of owning my horse I'm heading off to my first show in three weeks. A one day event to be precise. Never mind that Rodney can't jump for shiz and tends to crash through and fall over jumps more than actually jump them (HELP ME GOD) the guys down the yard said it would be fun.

SO ANYWAY, Rodney hasn't got a show name. I can just see the announcer calling out "AND AFTER RED DUCHESS AND WHISPERING WIND IS.....RODNEY!!!" Bit of an anti-climax really.

Isn't it bad luck to rename a horse or something? I should do really. Whenever I'm out riding and people come up to me and conversation goes something like:
Awed passerby: "Oh! What a beautiful horse! What's his name?"
Me: "Rodney"
Awed Passerby: *Smirk*

He's an ex-riding school horse see, and there were three of them called Rodney, Albert and Delboy. If you're not from brit-land you probably wont get that reference, its from an old comedy called 'only fools on horses' hence all the smirking.

But anyway, I digress, He hasn't got a show name and I would like some suggestions. All I can think of is "Roderick II" or something, but I think that still sounds a bit silly.

So I'm open to and appreciate any suggestions if you have them, he's a 15.1 hh, 16 year old, chestnut anglo-arab.

Okay, this has been happening more and more and more lately and I'd like some opinions on it. The question in question being do you allow your work to be posted on other people's blogs and private websites?

See, up until now it didn't really bother me to give people permission to use my pics on their site (with credit obviously) but I've been asked about it so much lately (seriously, look at the comments on my page! D: ) I'm sort of not sure what to do.

The way I see it is as long as its for a non profit non corporate use and they give full credit and link to my gallery I honestly don't mind. I suppose its publicity in a way, and at least they're asking. But there's been so many of them lately I'm almost tempting just to put a general note in my journal saying YES you can use it as long as credit is there, just to save me writing the same comment over and over again.

At the same time though I know a lot of you don't like your work being used, and this makes me doubt whether I should be letting these strangers (who never seem to speak brilliant English) use my stuff.

So what's your stance on the subject? Should I let them or should I offer a bit more restraint?

So today's wonder topic of Alex is dreams.

Tell me yours! Any weird ones? Horrible ones? recurring ones? common themes? ect

I have two recurring themes in my dreams that do make me wonder what they mean, if they mean anything at all.

For instance I had a dream last night where I was flying around with my arms breaking into peoples homes who had two massive t.vs on opposite sides of the wall which were too painful for me to look at.

Yep. Dreams hey, make no sense at all.

OR DO THEY?????.............

See, flying around with my arms and not being able to look at certain things are very common themes in my dreams. Often I'll have dreams where I'll flap my arms and it'll take a lot of effort to get off the ground but once I do it's such an exhilarating experience I don't want it to end. But what I'll also get in my dreams is it being too painful to look at things. Like when you've poked yourself in the eyeball and its difficult to focus properly, but it'll only ever be on something I really want to look at.

Weird.
Any ideas on what it means, or similar experiences to the above?

I had a weird dream a while back where all the old ponies from my riding school had been transformed into little old ladies, and I drove my super red power boat along and picked up the lady who was labeled as the ex-pony sooty, I then took her up to the top of a parking lot where my dad ran her over in his gray vauxwagon, and then she transformed back into the pony Sooty again.
