I have to admit I do like big cats, they're right up there with horses for me, although they're not as pleasing form-wise to draw as horses, their markings, colours and expressions more than make up for it. I used to really love wolves as well, but I have to say I'm a little wolfed-out since being on the internet
One of the questions I get asked most (obviously aside from can I use your art in my website/blog ) is what program/brushes do I use. The two programs I use are Adobe 6 and Corel Painter IX, it depends on the drawing how much of either gets used. In this one I used mostly photoshop, but on most of my drawings I use corel mainly.
Corel is what gives it the sort of painterly look, its very good for imitating traditional mediums. Not so good for editing, filters and specialized brushes though, so thats where photoshop comes in. Brushes wise I'm still experimenting with photoshop, but in Corel I use mostly the oil pastel and sometimes the oil brushes.
If you have a question please don't hesitate to ask, I'm happy to answer. :)
Fantastic! Sometimes I can't believe you...the way you paint is so different from pretty much everyone else I watch...refreshing and quite creative. Are those music notes in the background? I love big cats too. I've always had a soft spot for them...wolves hold only a limited amount of thrill for me anymore. Love the warm and cool contrast in this. (if this isn't a terribly scattered comment, I've never seen one)

beautiful, wow the muscel detail, particularly in the shoulder and chest is great!! the colours are so rich, this almost looks as though its coming out of the page!
Well that's so beautiful! I like the soft look of it very much! First of all- the colors, they look so nice together! Especially with the body. Second- the background. It's... fantastic! Hehe, that little shine on the tail looks so beautiful. x3 Lovely work. :]

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same.
