Fire in our Hearts by alexandrabirchmore Fire in our Hearts by alexandrabirchmore
Most digital art tutorials will tell you only to use the dodge brush in small subtle amounts. A wise friend of mine once also wisely said "the dodge brush makes things look like toast" which is why I totally didn't use the dodge brush for nearly every aspect of this painting :paranoid:

The horse is loosely based on the circulatory system of the horse..I say loosely cause I only had one crappy diagram to go which really wasn't very helpful.

Anyway, this is fire in the elements series.

Shuddup, fire totally CAN be that colour D:<

this is over and above phenomenal. The skeletal/circulatory equine is so incredibly creative. I love that it looks like one hoof is splashing up water. And the rest is just breath taking. Really fantastic work!

That is awesome. In extreme amounts. You're on awesome overload. I love the other horses coming from his mane and tail, too. And the larger, darker ones on the upper right side. The dodge tool is awesome. :3 I don't think anyone is going to nit-pick on where a vein may or may not be. There's too much to look at for that. xD

....Here I am trying to come with something intelligent to say about the piece, and the only thing that comes to mind is a friend of mine saying: "Don't Dodge it, Ram it." Thank you brain, that was a stunning comment.

Anyways. I love it. It's.... wild and primal' despite the rigid order of the bloodstream inside. Does that make sense? Probably not, but love the piece nonetheless.

They told you NOT to use the dodge tool? DX The dodge tool makes things SHINY. Just because it's a tool that makes things shiny doesn't mean it's bad. *Agaianst Dodge Tool Predjudice*
Ahem, ANYway, this is such a beautiful pic! I love how gestural it is. That pose the horse is in is absolutely beautiful.
Also, that skeleton kinda fire thing... inside (outside?) the horse really makes them stand out.
And those faint horse shapes all around are a nice touch.
I love it!
